First blog post! Well, now it's official - I am an internet junkie. Twitter, Facebook, Etsy and now this... seriously, it's an addiction...

So for this introductory post, I'll talk a little bit about my work.

The prints featured in my online gallery were all created between 2007 and March of this year, and represent a time of massive changes in my life. When I began learning printmaking, I was living in Tampa and finishing university. Over the next two years, I moved back to my home state in Michigan and then went on to travel the world, working aboard several cruise ships. A whirlwind tour of 29 countries meant dramatic, sweeping changes to my personality, worldview, and artistic vision.

Many of my prints deal with the theme of fulfilled dreams, because that's exactly what this recent phase has been for me. I am living proof that hard work pays off, prayers are answered, and dreams do come true. But I'll talk more about that later, once we've had chance to get to know each other better...

So that brings me to the Now - it's April 2010, and I am starting a new phase of life. I'm living just outside New York City and for the first time, focusing all of my energy in making a career out of what I love best -- creating art. In the future I'll talk more about my individual works, upcoming projects and promotions, and my musings on art and life as I continue my gypsy wanderings. But I would like to say one last thing about my motivation -- and this applies directly to you, out there reading this post:

The reason I am here pursuing my dreams is you -- my audience. All my life, people have come into my life and given me support and encouragement, unfailingly. And when I wandered off my path (as gypsy spirits are prone to doing), you've gently guided me back to finding what's in my heart. Whether you are family, friend, lover, teacher or acquaintance, I'm blessed by the lessons you've taught me.

There were some very dark days throughout the period of life I've just described. What got me through it was YOU ... always you.

So with love and gratitude, I sign off on my first post with bright hopes of what's to come.
